Whenever I take on a new female client I can guarantee 2 of the main areas they want to tighten, tone and basically make look sexier are the butt and thighs. In my quest too get the best results for my clients I have tried many different exercises such as squats, step ups and lunges (which all work great by the way) but this is the one I have found most effective. Do You Want to know what the best butt exercise is?

Its name is the single-legged Romanian Deadlift. Its one you may not have heard of before but believe me if you do this right you and your butt will not forget it. Apart from working the butt the back of the thigh will also get a great workout and many other smaller stabilizer muscles in your legs. If that wasn’t enough as this is performed on one leg your core is going to feel it too. Here is the way to do it correctly.
1. Stand looking straight ahead and balance on one leg move the other leg out slightly behind you.
2. Make sure your standing knee is slightly bent throughout the exercise.
3. Slowly bend forward while at the same time push the hips and butt and back maintaining a flat straight back.
4. As you are bending over with hips pushing backwards, position your other leg out behind you and aim to reach down with your hands to the toes the foot that’s on the ground and if possible try to touch it. Now when you’re doing this for the first time you may struggle to get down that far but if you can reach past the knee that should be sufficient until your balance and strength have improved. The more lower you can reach the harder your butt and thighs will be working and you should feel a stretch in the hamstrings as you get to the deepest part when your back is parallel to the floor.
5. Then, keeping the butt muscles tight and hard reverse the movement and bring yourself back to the starting position, again focusing on keeping the back nice and flat.
I would start by trying to do 5 good reps with perfect form working up to 10 reps for each leg. Do 2-3 sets per at every workout and I will guarantee that your butt and back of thighs will be burning big time (and the day after!)
I have to admit it is not easy and it will take time to master especially with your balance but persevere with it because once you can do them properly and maybe even start using free weights you’ll be well on your way to showing off a tighter, sexier butt!

I didn’t recommend this exercise to any of my female clients but I may have to give it a shot. For the butt I usually suggest lunges and sprinting but this seems like its worth a try.
